FCF Presents Social Accountability Code of Conduct

Sustainability and social accountability have recently become key issues in the fishing industry. Continuing its leadership in these endeavors, FCF took the opportunity to host a presentation in collaboration with Bureau Veritas, its third-party evaluator. This meeting with our stakeholders focused on FCF’s Social Accountability Code of Conduct.

We recognize that being a leader in the tuna industry comes with great responsibilities. As a result, our presentation was a first-of-its-kind and shared information on best practices in order to build more collaborative efforts around sustainability and social accountability. Our FSP documentation was shared with a number of partners, ranging from government agencies to members of the fishing industry, NGOs, and educational organizations.

We were encouraged by the positive feedback from all sectors, along with very meaningful dialogues that developed and have continued taking place.

FCF has taken leadership through its investments and efforts to promote more sustainable fishing practices and improved working conditions for crew members.
